How It Works

The Athena Sustainable Materials Institute has prepared this report in an effort to provide an indication of the inner workings of the EcoCalculator for Assemblies, i.e., what the tool does and how it does it. Assemblies within the tool are highlighted and definitions of the impact measures are further explained.

A similar user guide document is provided for our Impact Estimator software, from which the EcoCalculator is derived. This document provides present an overview of the Athena Impact Estimator for Buildings (IE) software and underlying databases by providing an indication of the inner workings of the tool – what it does and how it does it – and the various product and process databases it contains. It also provides information concerning the use of the software.
