Add or Modify Extra Basic Materials

This dialog can be used to:

  1. define and add extra materials to a project and/or to one of the assembly groups, or
  2. modify or view the extra materials that have been added to a project and/or to one of the assembly groups.

Notes:

Construction Effects
The Construction Material Effects that are associated with the construction life cycle stage for a structural assembly are approximated for Extra Basic Materials assemblies by assuming that a crane is used to move all material through a distance equal to half the building height.
Construction Waste Factor
Each material has an associated on-site construction waste factor associated with it, calculated as a percentage of the amount (e.g. #15 Organic Felt has a waste factor of 0.14, or 14%). The Net Amount will be added to the Bill of Materials and is equal to Amount + (Amount x Construction Waste Factor).
Flyash
The flyash concentration levels as provided should be treated as indicators only of employing more or less flyash in a typical mix. The results for different regions of N. America may be quite different and local conditions, availability and design mixes should be consulted.
Mass
1 Metric tonne = 1000 kilograms
1 US Imperial ton = 2000 pounds
Wood
1 Mbfm = 1 thousand board feet measure
1 Msf = 1 thousand square feet
