Version 5.1 Build 01

Athena Impact Estimator for Buildings 5.1.0102- released August 2015
(hot fix for 5.1.0101 - released July 2015)

General Changes

  1. End of Life Process Effects: Corrected a calculation bug for the End of Life Process related effects for User Defined Concrete Mix Designs.

Athena Impact Estimator for Buildings Version 5.1 Build 0101 - released July 2015

General Changes

  1. Assembly Concrete Options: NRMCA benchmark concrete mix designs were added to the database Product Library for 2500 psi, 3000 psi, 4000 psi, 5000 psi, 6000 psi and 8000 psi compressive strengths. These benchmark mixes, and their SI equivalents, are now the base or reference mix designs supported in the software’s concrete assemblies.
  2. Insulated Concrete Form Wall: Added the ability for users to select a concrete for the Insulated Concrete Form Wall assembly.
  3. Product Library - Update Synchronization: Improved the effectiveness of inheriting Product Library changes into active projects, their assemblies and any open reports.
  4. Wall Assemblies: The efficiency of Wall assembly calculation algorithms were improved when a project loads
  5. Wall Assembly - Module D Effects: Module D Effects calculation errors have been corrected for wall assemblies.
  6. User Defined Concrete Mix Design: The Material Type for user defined concrete mix design records was not being saved to the Product Library. This caused the User Defined Concrete Mix Design Library Conflict Resolution form to be displayed when a project that used the affected records was subsequently opened.

Database Changes

  1. Portland Cement: Updated the US data for Portland Cement
  2. Slag Cement: Based on the 2015 N.A. industry wide LCA and EPD for Slag Cement and with the support of the Slag Cement Association, the previous Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag profile has been retired and replaced with the latest industry average EPD profile and renamed Slag Cement. Slag Cement replaces all other Slag SCMs in User Defined Composite Product Library records (when the application launches) and in legacy projects (when loaded into the application). The list of retired Slag SCMs include the following:
    • Air-Cooled Blast-Furnace Slag - Crushed
    • Air-Cooled Blast-Furnace Slag - Not Crushed
    • Granulated Blast-Furnace Slag
    • Granulated Nickel Slag
    • Granulated Steel Slag
  3. New Material: Added the "Concrete Benchmark 2500 psi" concrete mix design to the database Product Library.
  4. New Material: Added the "Concrete Benchmark 3000 psi" concrete mix design to the database Product Library.
  5. New Material: Added the "Concrete Benchmark 4000 psi" concrete mix design to the database Product Library.
  6. New Material: Added the "Concrete Benchmark 5000 psi" concrete mix design to the database Product Library.
  7. New Material: Added the "Concrete Benchmark 6000 psi" concrete mix design to the database Product Library.
  8. New Material: Added the "Concrete Benchmark 8000 psi" concrete mix design to the database Product Library.
  9. New Branded Product: Added the "DuroLast© white PVC membrane 40 mil" to the database.
  10. New Branded Product: Added the "DuroLast© white PVC membrane 50 mil" to the database.
  11. New Branded Product: Added the "DuroLast© white PVC membrane 60 mil" to the database.
  12. Aluminum Updates: Aluminum profiles with the latest 2014 N.A. LCI data for primary and secondary ingot, cold and hot rolled sheet, extruded and cast products. These data have been mapped accordingly to the various aluminum products supported in the software and have been modeled on a similar basis as was done for N.A. steel products in version 5.0.
  13. Metal Roof Cladding: Updated life span from 45 to 60 years.
